There are those people that are natural leader and those who choose and learn to be one. A great teacher will be the type of leader needed to bring out the best of their students. The one who believes on them and teaches them to learn so they can do so without them, the one who teaches them to think and critique, to think outside de box and be innovated and creative. On the TEDx Ghent Pierre Pirard talks about 5 principles of highly effective leaders. The first one and the most important for me is the fact that effective leaders believe their team can achieve great results and because the leader believes their team can achieve, the team believe themselves, therefore, after believing it they achieve it. However, even if they do not achieve, it is a fact that they have given their best. And that is what counts. Confidence is everything. If teachers believe their students can do it, they will do it. In January of 1692, the witchcraft hysteria began when a group of young girls became sick after playing a fortune-telling game and began acting strangely. These girls later became known as the â€Å"afflicted girls† (David 12). The afflicted girls, Elizabeth Booth, Elizabeth Hubbard, Mercy Lewis, Betty Parris, Ann Putnam, Jr., Susannah Sheldon, Abigail Williams, Mary Walcott, and Mary Warren are very important people in the Salem Witch Trials. There are conflicting opinions on whether or not witches exist. However, when taking a more in-depth look at the trials, it is very evident that witches in 17th century Salem did not exist; children were accusing people out of boredom, parents were using this as a type of revenge, and the witch tests were unjust. The 17th century Salem witch trials all started when 9-year-old Betty Parris and 11-year-old Abigail Williams began having fits, including violent contortions and uncontrollable outbursts of screaming. These are moments that have been long lost into the transition to adulthood and in my stagnant and gridlocked life. This moment has been entrapped in a decayed and withered jail cell, unable to break the chains. But today the first time in a long time I feel as if I am beyond those bars of torpidity, and let free into a blooming field of growth and opportunity. Emerging into the lively and energetic stadium, I feel the rush of enthusiasm and youthful spirit flow through my veins. This feeling is enough to overpower whatever dark obstacle that throws itself in my way. I feel a calming familiarity of this joy and energy that makes me feel like a young boy again. Before I even have a chance to find exactly which section of the stadium I need to go, I spot Alicia sitting ever so beautifully in her seat. She is perched like a bird of paradise, unique and perfect in her own way.
